A landmark moment has arrived for the Philippines. For the first time ever, the MICHELIN Guide has officially recognized the country’s vibrant dining scene, awarding stars to restaurants across Manila and Cebu and shining a global spotlight on the depth, creativity, and heart of Filipino cuisine. It’s a milestone that signals what many locals have long known: the Philippines has something extraordinary to offer the culinary world.

Leading the inaugural lineup is Helm, located in Makati and headed by Chef Josh Boutwood. Known for its intimate tasting menu that reflects his personal blend of Filipino and international influences, Helm earned an impressive Two MICHELIN Stars, setting a high bar for contemporary dining in the country.

Eight more restaurants were awarded One MICHELIN Star, completing a powerful roster of talent. These include: Asador Alfonso, Celera, Gallery by Chele, Hapag, Inatô, Kasa Palma, Linamnam, and Toyo Eatery.

Each one highlights a different facet of Filipino dining today—from modern Filipino tasting menus, to regionally inspired dishes, to bold new interpretations of traditional flavors.

Michelin also honored more restaurants through its Bib Gourmand category, which celebrates places that deliver exceptional cooking at more accessible price points. Twenty-five restaurants received this recognition—proof that excellent food in the Philippines isn’t limited to fine-dining rooms. These spots represent the everyday eateries, inventive casual kitchens, and neighborhood favorites that Filipinos treasure.

Beyond the stars and Bib Gourmands, 74 establishments were named MICHELIN Selected, a category highlighting restaurants that impressed inspectors for quality and consistency. This wider selection captures the full spectrum of Philippine dining: heritage restaurants, boundary-pushing newcomers, chef-driven cafés, and everything in between.

For diners, this guide is more than a list—it’s validation. It acknowledges the artistry of Filipino chefs, the richness of local ingredients, and the evolving cultural identity expressed through food. And for young professionals and creative go-getters, it’s exciting to see the country finally receive the global recognition it has long deserved.

These newly starred restaurants aren’t just places to eat; they’re places to experience stories, craftsmanship, and a shared pride in Filipino excellence. Whether you’re celebrating, exploring, or simply craving something meaningful, this historic first edition of the MICHELIN Guide Philippines invites everyone to taste the moment.

The Beyoncé x Levi’s collection marks the final installment of the year-long Levi’s® RE/IMAGINE campaign, wrapping it up with a confident nod to The Denim Cowboy aesthetic. Think Western silhouettes, glimmering sequins, and metallic finishes—all filtered through Beyoncé’s signature power and presence.

The collection takes Levi’s heritage and flips it on its head. • iPhone 17 & iPhone 17 Air: Apple’s Sleek New Rhythms

iPhone 17 & iPhone 17 Air: Apple’s Sleek New Rhythms

When Apple dropped its 2025 lineup, two models stood out for balancing power and elegance: the iPhone 17 and the brand-new iPhone 17 Air. For those who want high performance and style, this pair shows Apple’s sharpest vision yet—technology that looks good, feels good, and works hard.

The iPhone 17 is the more familiar sibling, but make no mistake—it’s upgraded. A 6.3-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display with ProMotion (up to 120Hz) that’s both brighter and more responsive than ever. The front-facing camera is now 18MP with the “Center Stage” feature, perfect for group selfies and calls without awkward framing. Dual Capture video (recording with both the front and back cameras simultaneously) is now built in.

Around back, the 48MP Dual Fusion camera system makes wide, ultra wide, and telephoto shots more capable. Apple pushed durability too—the new Ceramic Shield 2 front is significantly more scratch resistant, and the build is designed to handle whatever daily life throws at it. Battery life per Apple’s specs? All-day. With fast charging you can hit 50% in about 20 minutes.

The back view of an iPhone 17 showing the camera lenses and Apple logo.

Now, the iPhone 17 Air is the real curveball. Think ultra-thin, featherlight, and effortlessly stylish. It’s Apple’s thinnest large-screen phone yet, with a polished titanium or premium frame, and an impressive display that holds its own despite the slimmer design. Some specs are slightly pared back compared to Pro models (fewer lenses, lighter battery), but in return you get portability and elegance that few phones can match.

Side view of the purple iPhone Air showcasing its sleek design and camera, with the text 'iPhone air' in the background.
    Photos: Apple / X

Both phones are running iOS 26, which brings smoother performance, more intelligent features, and interface tweaks that make things feel seamless—especially when upgrading from older models. Colors have been refreshed too; the base iPhone 17 comes in sophisticated shades like Sage, Lavender, Mist Blue, black, and white, while the Air offers hues that highlight its modern, clean design.

What makes this duo especially compelling is how they pair real functionality with something aspirational. If you work, create content, take photos, or frequently on-the-go, the upgrades in display, camera, battery, and durability are meaningful. And yet, Apple didn’t lose its sense of design: the slim profile, refined finishes, and clever hardware balancing between power and sleekness make these phones feel like pieces you want to show off—without compromising utility.

For practical go-getters, iPhone 17 and 17 Air offer something rare: devices that support your lifestyle and lift it. They whisper polish, and deliver presence. If your day demands strength, style, and substance, these might be your new daily companions.

  • 6 Viral Foods That Are Feeding Our Cravings and Our Feels

6 Viral Foods That Are Feeding Our Cravings and Our Feels

Across the Philippines, comfort dishes from around the world are finding new life in the local Filipino scene — thanks to viral videos, TikTok taste tests, and a culture that’s finally embracing food as both pleasure and personality.

From the fiery thrill of buldak to the soft luxury of pistachio desserts, these crowd favorites are feeding more than craving —they’re feeding moods. Here’s what’s trending now, and why everyone’s obsessed.

    1. Cheesy Buldak Ramen

A bowl of cheesy buldak ramen topped with an egg, grilled chicken, and garnished with black sesame, surrounded by additional instant noodles and condiments.

Let’s start with a spicy icon: buldak, or “fire chicken.” Originally a Korean pub dish, it became a household name in the Philippines thanks to Samyang’s viral instant noodles and—let’s be honest—our collective love for mukbangs. Gen Zs especially have been recreating buldak at home after watching their fave Korean vloggers devour it on screen. Then came the boom: Korean marts and convenience stores started selling it in creative versions—cheesy, carbonara-style, or wrapped in rice. It’s comfort food with edge, and we’re clearly here for the burn.

    2. 7-Fresh Pistachio Chocolate Collection

A plate of pistachio-coated pastries, including a croissant and brownie, showcasing a blend of textures and flavors.

Now, let’s talk about pistachio—the flavor that’s quietly taken over timelines, cafés, and cravings for many years in the Philippines. The flavor recently claimed its long overdue viral buzz with the Dubai pistachio chocolate. It quickly became a must-have pasalubong, with Filipinos hunting down boxes or placing pre-orders just to try it. Then came Conti’s Pistachio Cake, which exploded on social media not just for its dreamy green layers, but for its perfect balance of nutty and sweet with totally feed-worthy presentation. Inspired by the trend, local foodies and home bakers started crafting their own takes —from pistachio sans rival to frozen desserts.

Even 7-Eleven Philippines joined the wave with their own Pistachio Series, cementing the flavor’s shift from niche to mainstream. What was once a luxury gelato flavor is now the unofficial taste of the aesthetic snack era and has gone through even more popularity—creamy, elevated, effortlessly indulgent and accessible!

    3. Matcha

A mug of matcha latte with a heart design on top, surrounded by coffee beans and cookies on a wooden table, with green foliage in the background.

Still riding high is matcha, a timeless fave among Gen Zs and millennials. This Japanese green tea powder has found its way into lattes, skincare routines, and even cookies. Beyond the cool, earthy taste and antioxidant benefits, matcha offers what we all crave: calm energy. It’s giving clean girl wellness with a touch of café-core — no wonder it’s never really gone out of style.

    4. Croffle

A close-up view of croffles topped with whipped cream, fresh raspberries, and blueberries on a dark plate.

Craving something crisp and buttery? Enter the croffle—croissant meets waffle in this Korean café invention that turned into a brunch must-have. With its flaky layers and satisfying crunch, it’s a unique experience especially for food content creators who scout outstanding features. Dress it up with strawberries and whipped cream or keep it savory with cheese and egg. Either way, it’s golden hour on a plate.

    5. Tiramisu

A person in a white shirt serving a tray of tiramisu, with a glass of utensils beside it, on a wooden table.

And then there’s tiramisu, which is having a very Filipino resurgence. Toni Sia Morales made waves selling her creamy version online, and Conti’s released their own — which went viral not only for its flavor, but for packaging so hard to open, it became a meme. But all jokes aside, this Italian classic — espresso-soaked, mascarpone-filled, and layered with nostalgia — still feels like the dessert version of a long hug.

    6. Vegan Ramen

A bowl of ramen featuring corn, tomatoes, tofu cubes, green herbs, and seaweed, served with a spoon and a glass of beverage in the background.

Finally, vegan ramen is thriving. With the ramen craze still going strong in the Philippines, people are now exploring plant-based bowls too. Vegan ramen skips the pork but keeps all the soul — rich miso broth, mushrooms, tofu, nori, and all the toppings. It’s proof that comfort food can be intentional and delicious.

These food comebacks aren’t just about flavor — they’re about how we live. We’re choosing dishes that bring nostalgia, indulgence, culture, and joy. In a world moving fast, these trendy bites help us slow down, feel good, and romanticize even the little things — like snacks.

Because in this season of intentioned living, even comfort food deserves its glow-up. Share this with your food buddies!

The Hanai Collection from Vans Spotlights Visual Storytelling Through Streetwear

Vans is no stranger to creativity, and with its latest Artist Series drop, the brand invites us into the bright, feel-good world of Hanai—an illustrator known for her playful characters, pastel hues, and uplifting designs. Now available in the Philippines, the Vans Artist Series: Hanai Collection is all about celebrating self-expression, identity, and art in everyday life.

Whether you’re someone who sees sneakers as a form of self-care or you’re just looking to add some sunshine to your step, this collection makes it easy to wear joy—literally.

    Art Meets Street

Known for creating illustrations that feel like a visual diary, Hanai’s work is soft, whimsical, and unapologetically human. She’s carved a space in the art world with doodles that feature smiling faces, comforting phrases, and soulful details—all of which now show up across her Vans collaboration.

The collection reimagines classic silhouettes like the Vans Authentic and Slip-On, layering them with hand-drawn graphics that feel personal and alive. Think: pastel-colored characters, gentle curves, and thoughtful messages that make you pause in the best way.

You’ll also find Hanai’s voice throughout the apparel lineup, which includes oversized tees, hoodies, and co-ords that look and feel like something your best friend would design for you. A standout piece? The white tee with “You’re doing your best” scribbled across the chest. Sometimes, that’s all we need to hear.

    Comfort, Color, and Character

From sneakers to accessories, the collection’s design language stays true to Hanai’s vision—gentle, emotional, and endearing. This isn’t just a line of products. It’s a feeling. A vibe. A tiny pocket of peace in a noisy world.

And while the visuals are charming, the comfort is pure Vans: durable, wearable, and built for movement. You’ll find padded collars, supportive footbeds, and sturdy canvas builds that are meant to last, not just impress.

    Where to Find It

Yes, the Vans x Hanai collection is available in the Philippines! You can shop the drop at select Vans concept stores like Greenbelt 3, Bonifacio High Street, and Trinoma, or go straight to vans.com.ph for online purchases.

    Why We’re Loving It

The Vans Artist Series has always been about elevating underrepresented creatives, and the Hanai Collection continues that legacy in a way that feels warm and welcoming. There’s no ego in this drop. Just emotion, color, and community.

At a time when everything can feel overly curated, the charm of this collab lies in its imperfections—in the hand-drawn lines, the offbeat characters, the little reminders to take it slow. It’s fashion that makes you feel seen.

So if you’re in the mood to lighten up your wardrobe or you just want to carry a bit of joy with you every day, Hanai’s world is a beautiful place to start.

A close-up view of the New Balance Abzorb 2000 sneakers in Blue Agate colorway, featuring a chunky design and unique sole, placed on a person's lap with a blurred background.

Y2K Energy Is Back: The New Balance Abzorb 2000 Lands in PH

If you’re a fan of nostalgic fashion done right, get ready: the New Balance Abzorb 2000 has officially landed in the Philippines. Originally launched globally on June 12, this Y2K-inspired sneaker is now hitting local shelves, bringing with it a design that feels both retro and completely new.

    The Style: Futuristic Meets Familiar

The Abzorb 2000 makes a strong case for why the early 2000s aesthetic is still having its moment. With a mix of breathable mesh, suede overlays, and a chunky profile, this sneaker plays with proportions in the best way possible. The oversized “N” logo, metallic touches, and sculpted sole give it that unmistakable throwback energy—like your favorite techwear from the early aughts, only smarter and sleeker.

Initial colorways like Blue Agate and Still Water balance boldness with everyday wearability. But it’s not just about the looks.

The Feel: Cushion, Stability, and Comfort

At the heart of the Abzorb 2000 is—you guessed it—New Balance’s signature Abzorb cushioning system. Five visible pods under the footbed offer plush comfort, while a midfoot plate provides structure and support. Whether you’re walking around BGC, commuting through EDSA, or just strolling in sneakers all day, this pair delivers that soft-yet-stable ride New Balance is known for.

It feels like a modern evolution of the 1906R and 992 models—cushioned, supportive, and stylish without trying too hard.

    Now Available in the Philippines

Here’s the good news: the New Balance Abzorb 2000 is officially available in the Philippines. As of mid-June 2025, the Blue Agate colorway is already stocked at:

    • The official New Balance PH website
    • Select local sneaker retailers like Sole Academy and Atmos Philippines

    Why Sneakerheads Are Hyped

So, what’s the big deal? For one, the Abzorb 2000 taps into the Y2K trend without feeling like a costume. It’s genuinely wearable, super comfy, and adds just the right amount of edge to your daily fit. Whether you’re dressing up a streetwear look or adding contrast to minimal basics, this sneaker easily fits into any rotation.

The New Balance Abzorb 2000 hits the sweet spot between heritage design and modern innovation. It’s a nostalgic nod to early 2000s style—but it’s also built to keep up with 2025 life. Whether you’re a longtime NB fan or just getting into sneakers, this is one release worth paying attention to.

Now that it’s finally in the Philippines, the only question is: will you cop?

  • Beyond the Macaron: Ladurée Introduces a Century-Old French Tea Culture to Manila’s Modern Cafe Scene

Beyond the Macaron: Ladurée Introduces a Century-Old French Tea Culture to Manila’s Modern Cafe Scene

Exterior view of the Ladurée Salon de Thé, featuring an elegant sign with 'Ladurée Paris', a beautifully decorated interior with chandeliers and colorful pastries displayed on shelves.

Paris has officially arrived in Ortigas—gracefully, sweetly, and with a touch of gold. Ladurée has opened its first full-service Salon de Thé in the Philippines, offering more than just its famous pastel-hued macarons. Located at The Podium, this new spot invites guests to experience a more immersive taste of French café culture, right in the heart of Metro Manila.

For years, Ladurée’s macarons have been available through select retail corners, but this is the first time Filipinos get the full sit-down experience: delicate pastries served on fine china, coffee poured tableside, and a space designed for lingering conversations over sweets and tea.

Naturally, the macarons are front and center. Bestsellers like Pistachio, Rose, Salted Caramel, and Lemon are all available, along with rotating seasonal flavors. Each one is crafted with that signature balance—light, crisp shells giving way to smooth, flavorful ganache. But what sets this location apart is what comes with them: a full menu of pastries and savory items, plus an elegant dining space that feels both intimate and elevated.

The interiors are as charming as you’d expect—soft pastels, antique mirrors, marble tables, and a bit of Parisian flair in every corner. It’s the kind of place that turns a quick coffee break into a small moment of luxury, without trying too hard.

Beyond macarons, the pastry selection includes classics like Ispahan (a rose macaron layered with lychee cream and raspberries), glossy Religieuse, buttery Kouign-Amann, and fruit tartlets. On the savory side, there are plated brunch options like Quiche Lorraine, Croque-Monsieur, and smoked salmon sandwiches. The kitchen keeps it light and refined—ideal for a midday treat or a low-key celebration.

Coffee lovers will find something to enjoy, too. Ladurée offers everything from creamy cappuccinos to traditional café viennois, served with the same care as their pastries. Their tea selection is also worth exploring, especially signature blends like Marie Antoinette—a black tea scented with rose and citrus.

Here’s a peek at the menu highlights:

Macarons: Pistachio, Rose, Salted Caramel, Chocolate, Vanilla, plus seasonal picks

Pastries: Ispahan, Religieuse, Kouign-Amann, Éclairs, Millefeuille

Savory: Quiche Lorraine, Croque-Monsieur, Salmon & Chicken Sandwiches, Eggs Benedict

Drinks: Marie Antoinette tea, Jardin Bleu, Espresso, Café Crème, Iced teas, and milkshakes

Prices range from ₱150 for a single macaron to around ₱800+ for plated dishes. While it leans luxurious, it’s not unapproachable—making it perfect for quiet treats, birthdays, or a spontaneous afternoon pick-me-up.

With this opening, Ladurée adds something special to Manila’s café scene: a space that encourages you to sit, savor, and enjoy the little things. Because sometimes, all it takes is a really good macaron to feel like you’re somewhere else entirely.

  • The 990v6 Arrives: New Balance Refines Its Most Iconic Silhouette Yet

The 990v6 Arrives: New Balance Refines Its Most Iconic Silhouette Yet

The New Balance 990 series has long been celebrated for its balance of comfort, quality, and understated cool. Now, with the arrival of the 990v6, the brand takes its legacy into the next generation—modernizing a classic while keeping its beloved DNA intact.

At first glance, the 990v6 still looks like part of the iconic 990 family. But on closer inspection, this model brings a refreshed silhouette: a chunkier sole, sleeker overlays, and a slightly more streamlined shape. It’s a perfect example of subtle evolution—not a complete makeover, but an upgrade that today’s sneaker lovers will instantly recognize and appreciate.

The upper still features that reliable mix of premium suede and mesh, but now includes updated design lines and more layered detailing. Around the iconic “N” logo is a fresh outline treatment that adds a subtle pop, giving the shoe more dimension while keeping it versatile for everyday wear.

What makes the 990v6 stand out, however, is the technology underfoot. This version introduces FuelCell foam to the midsole, which adds a responsive, springy feel—something you’ll notice the moment you put them on. Combined with New Balance’s signature ENCAP technology, the result is lightweight cushioning paired with excellent support, perfect for all-day use whether you’re on the move or just strolling through the city.

And yes, it’s still proudly Made in the USA. That badge is more than a branding choice—it represents New Balance’s continued commitment to quality manufacturing, sourcing over 70% of materials from domestic suppliers and crafting each pair with care and precision.

    Availability in the Philippines

For sneaker fans in the Philippines, the good news is: the 990v6 is officially available locally.

You can find them at Atmos Philippines, where they retail for around ₱18,995 in a range of colorways including the always-classic grey, black, and new seasonal shades. Fashiola PH also lists the model at slightly lower prices depending on color and size availability, ranging from ₱15,000 to ₱15,200. Specialty retailers and streetwear stores may carry limited-edition or collaboration pairs—such as the “Carhartt WIP” versions—which go for a higher price point but cater to collectors and style connoisseurs.

Smaller retailers and resellers across platforms like TikTok, Facebook Marketplace, or AfterMarket PH often offer pre-orders and community drops, giving local buyers more options depending on their preferred sizing and colorway.

Whether you’re into retro aesthetics or simply want a shoe that’s built for both performance and polish, the 990v6 hits the mark. It’s equally suited for a dressed-down coffee run, a long day on your feet, or that minimalist sneaker rotation that needs a new anchor pair.

In a world of loud collabs and trend-driven drops, the New Balance 990v6 is a refreshing reminder that sometimes, heritage done right is more than enough. It’s understated but thoughtful. Sleek but familiar. And now, it’s ready for your rotation.

  • Balenciaga × Lamborghini Fall 2025 Blends Speed, Luxury, and Subversion

Balenciaga × Lamborghini Fall 2025 Blends Speed, Luxury, and Subversion

Luxury and horsepower collide this season with the Balenciaga × Lamborghini Fall 2025 Preview Collection, a limited-edition drop that blends the adrenaline of Italian supercars with the unapologetic edge of modern fashion. Think fast silhouettes, automotive-influenced tailoring, and statement pieces that feel just as at home on the runway as they do on the autobahn.

This isn’t your typical logo-plastered collab. It’s Balenciaga doing what it does best—pushing boundaries—and Lamborghini bringing its signature power and precision to wearable form.

    Fashion That Moves—Literally

The Fall 2025 collection draws direct inspiration from Lamborghini’s bold design language. Sharp lines, high-performance fabrics, and sculptural outerwear dominate the capsule. There’s a fluidity in the movement of the pieces, but also a sense of structure—like the curves of a luxury car engineered for speed.

Jackets are oversized but aerodynamic, graphic tees feature outlines of Lamborghini’s latest models, and accessories take on a streamlined form that echoes the mechanics of motion. It’s fashionable, but with torque.

Even the color palette borrows from the Lamborghini universe: sleek monochromes, matte finishes, and racing reds—all giving nods to engine bays, luxury interiors, and the blurred rush of speed.

    Details Worth Braking For

A standout from the preview collection is the reimagined Balenciaga Hourglass bag, now with Lamborghini’s iconic shield badge. Other accessories, including crossbody styles and structured clutches, are shaped to resemble car parts—subtle, but instantly recognizable to anyone who knows a dashboard from a design board.

Footwear in the collection veers toward performance-inspired shapes with chunky soles and aerodynamic lines, while jewelry and leather goods carry that same hard-edged, high-gloss energy.

A New Kind of Power Dressing

Balenciaga and Lamborghini may come from two different worlds—one from the atelier, the other from the garage—but this collaboration proves that design language knows no limits. Whether you’re a car enthusiast or a fashion obsessive (or both), this collection speaks your style fluently.

It’s luxe without being soft. It’s technical without feeling sterile. It’s the kind of statement you wear when you don’t just want to show up—you want to arrive.

    Rolling Out Now

The Balenciaga × Lamborghini Fall 2025 Preview Collection is now available in select Balenciaga stores and online through balenciaga.com. And like any limited-edition performance machine, these pieces are expected to move fast—literally and figuratively.

  • Pour Decisions Welcome: Matador Mixes Wine, Sake, and Japanese-Spanish Cuisine

Pour Decisions Welcome: Matador Mixes Wine, Sake, and Japanese-Spanish Cuisine

Tucked away in the Scout area of Quezon City, Matador isn’t trying to be your average wine bar. And thank goodness for that.

This new spot—opened by the minds behind ReCraft and Bar Flora—is where New World wines, artisanal sake, and flavor-forward tapas come together in a space that feels effortlessly cool. No dusty bottles behind glass. No stiff sommeliers quoting tasting notes. Just great drinks, bold flavors, and a mood that’s both relaxed and refined.

A minimalist line art design of a bull's head on a textured orange wall, complementing the warm ambiance of the wine bar.

Matador is the kind of bar that invites you to explore, even if you’re not “into” wine yet. The selection leans heavily into lesser-seen regions—South Africa, Chile, Argentina, even Japan—with an equally adventurous sake list sourced from different prefectures. There’s no pressure to know anything. The vibe is casual, the staff is welcoming, and if you’re not sure what to get, they’ll guide you through the options like a friend would—not a gatekeeper.

“We wanted it to feel fun,” says Louiza Juano, co-founder and general manager. “People can be intimidated by wine or sake, and we wanted to change that. Here, it’s about what you enjoy—not what you’re supposed to enjoy.”

The same spirit carries through to the food. Matador’s menu is a blend of Spanish tapas and Japanese izakaya—a cross-cultural mix that sounds unexpected on paper but makes perfect sense on the plate. Pintxos (small bar snacks) include Brie Tempura Toast, Boquerones Fry, and Negra Temaki, each one playful, punchy, and made for pairing.

One of the crowd favorites is the Tebasaki—chicken wings stuffed with chorizo paella, glazed in tare sauce, and served with a cured egg yolk for dipping. It’s rich, savory, and full of layered textures. Another must-try? The Patatas Fritas Finas—a pile of crispy shoestring potatoes topped with garlic foam, Jamon Serrano, egg, and just the right hint of wasabi. There’s also Miso Chashu Paella, which plays with ramen flavors in a paella format. Weird? Maybe. Delicious? Absolutely.

An overhead view of a dining table filled with an assortment of colorful dishes, glasses of drinks, and cutlery. Various plates feature vibrant food items, including seafood and tapas-style dishes, along with drinks being raised in a toast.

The space itself ties it all together. Tones of terracotta, plum, and burnt orange echo the natural palette of wine, while dark wood adds warmth and a sense of grounding. It’s small, intimate, and built for conversation—whether you’re catching up with friends, meeting someone new, or just winding down solo.

Matador isn’t flashy, but it’s confident. It doesn’t need gimmicks or themed nights. What it offers is something honest: a space where you can try new things without the pressure of getting it “right.”

Matador is now open at 2F F7 Rallos, Scout Rallos, Quezon City. Follow @matadorwine on Instagram for their latest pours, pairings, and events. Come curious, stay for the second glass.

  • PUMA Revisits the H-Street, a Classic Reborn for a New Generation

PUMA Revisits the H-Street, a Classic Reborn for a New Generation

There’s something timeless about a good comeback—and in the case of the PUMA H-Street, it’s the kind that makes you stop and look twice. Originally introduced in the early 2000s as a lightweight racing flat, the H-Street made its mark among athletes and style-savvy wearers alike. Now, in 2025, PUMA breathes new life into this archive favorite, giving it a second wind that feels both nostalgic and right on trend.

    From Performance to Street Style

The H-Street’s original purpose was simple: speed and performance. Built for track athletes, the shoe featured a breathable mesh base, soft suede overlays, and a stripped-down silhouette that prioritized function over flair. But as the early 2000s wore on, that minimal look started crossing over—from stadiums to skateparks, sidewalks, and city streets.

Today’s revival keeps the DNA of the original but gives it a contemporary spin. Think updated cushioning, better materials, and colorways that range from earth-toned essentials to bold pops of red and blue. Whether you’re a longtime fan or a first-timer just discovering it, the H-Street still feels as light and wearable as ever.

A Look That Goes With Everything

One of the best things about the H-Street is its versatility. That low-profile design pairs well with pretty much anything—cargo pants, loose denim, tailored trousers, or even a flowy skirt. It’s the kind of sneaker that can be your everyday go-to without trying too hard.

The curved PUMA Formstrip adds just enough of that Y2K vibe, while mesh and suede panels keep it breathable and sleek. If you’re into the quiet-luxury-meets-athleisure movement, this pair easily slides into that category.

    Comfort That Doesn’t Quit

Style aside, these sneakers really deliver on wearability. The lightweight build makes them ideal for all-day errands, city walks, or even a weekend flight. You get just enough cushion without the bulk, and the flexible outsole lets your feet move naturally. It’s almost slipper-like in comfort, which is a big reason people loved them the first time around.

This is a sneaker designed for people who live in motion—whether you’re navigating a packed day in the city or just heading out for a chill coffee run.

    Planning to cop a pair?

Want to hear some good news? You don’t have to wait. The PUMA H-Street sneakers are now available in the Philippines at select PUMA concept stores like Glorietta, Bonifacio High Street, and Ayala Malls Manila Bay. You can also shop them online via puma.com.ph, or through local lifestyle stores such as Commonwealth PH and The Rail.

Pricing starts at around ₱5,500, with limited colorways depending on the store. Some drops may include exclusive palettes or packs, so it’s worth checking regularly if you’re eyeing something specific.

  • Where Magic Meets Mixology: A Night Out at Incanta Cave Bar

Where Magic Meets Mixology: A Night Out at Incanta Cave Bar

If you’re looking for something a little more unexpected than your usual night out, Incanta Cave Bar in Quezon City brings a refreshingly different vibe to the table. Located along the bustling Tomas Morato strip, this speakeasy-style bar doesn’t scream for attention—but that’s part of the charm. You head down a staircase that leads you into a softly lit cave-like space, complete with velvet curtains, glowing orbs overhead, and music that sets the mood without overpowering it.

Inside, the energy is both mysterious and inviting. It’s moody in the best way—think dramatic lighting, intimate corners, and a modern-apothecary-meets-lunar-lounge aesthetic. The setting feels designed for good conversations, whether you’re catching up with friends or on a second (or third) date.

The food and drink experience is where things really start to shine. Helmed by Chef Frances Tariga—who’s made her mark on the international culinary scene—Incanta’s menu is compact but curated. It leans into bold flavors and reimagined comfort food: grilled skewers, rolls with unexpected twists, and small plates you’ll want to reorder before the first round’s even done. It’s the kind of menu made for sharing, paired with cocktails that are a little theatrical but never gimmicky.

Speaking of drinks—Incanta doesn’t just serve cocktails; it crafts experiences. Each creation has a name that feels straight out of a fantasy novel: Love Elixir, Dark Moon, The Oracle. One might come with a color shift as you stir, another with an edible smoke bubble that releases a scented mist. It’s playful and photogenic, but still rooted in good technique and well-balanced flavors. And if you’re feeling adventurous, you can ask the bartender about the month’s secret off-menu potion.

Weekends are often livelier with DJs or low-key themed nights, but even then, the space never feels chaotic. It stays cozy and comfortable, never too packed to enjoy your drink or find a quiet corner to relax. The crowd skews young professionals and creatives—people who appreciate a well-made cocktail and a unique setting.

Cocktails here aren’t just drinks—they’re spells in liquid form. From color-changing concoctions to edible smoke bubbles, the mixologists at Incanta are trained not only to shake and stir, but to enchant. Drinks are named with intention: expect potions with names like Love Elixir, Dark Moon, and The Oracle.

If you’re planning to visit, here’s a quick peek at the menu highlights:

    Small Plates

    • Mushroom Spring Rolls with ginger-calamansi dip
    • Chicken Yakitori Skewers with sweet soy glaze
    • Wagyu Skewers with miso butter
    • Crispy Crab Rolls with yuzu aioli

    Cocktails

    • Love Elixir (rose, elderflower, gin)

    • The Oracle (gin, cucumber, basil)
    • Secret Potion of the Month (ask your bartender)

    Dessert

    • Ube Cheesecake Bites
    • Tablea Truffles with orange peel

Whether you’re after something new or just want your usual drink served with a little extra flair, Incanta is a welcome change of pace. It’s a bar with personality—and a little magic, too.

iai Introduces a New Kind of Minimalism—One Rooted in Technique, Stillness, and Intentional Dining

Tucked away in the emerging food scene of BGC is a new name quickly making waves for those who seek intentionality in every bite: iai. Pronounced ee-eye, the restaurant’s name takes inspiration from the Japanese martial art of iaido, which emphasizes precision, control, and ritual. That same philosophy flows seamlessly into the dining experience.

Founded by a group of partners and led by Chef Bruce Ricketts (of Mecha Uma fame), alongside designer Jae Pickrell, iai offers an omakase and kappo experience stripped of excess—focusing on craft, clean lines, and a mindful respect for ingredients. It’s not just dining; it’s a quiet ceremony of taste.

The interiors of iai mirror its culinary vision. Designed in collaboration with renowned firm Hurray Design, the space is clean, softly lit, and centered around an 11-seat hinoki wood sushi counter. The absence of background music, decorative clutter, or even menus feels deliberate. Here, the food speaks louder than anything else.

The open kitchen allows diners to observe Chef Bruce and his team at work—every slice, torch flame, and plate arrangement handled with deliberate elegance. The arrangement encourages guests to pause and truly savor each moment.

iai offers a 14-course dinner omakase (₱9,000) and a 5-course kappo experience (₱4,500). Courses shift with the seasons and Chef Bruce’s instincts, combining traditional Japanese methods with Filipino and global ingredients.

    Menu highlights include:

    • Ankimo (monkfish liver) with citrus glaze
    • A5 Wagyu served with white kombu sauce
    • Seasonal sashimi imported directly from Toyosu Market

The sushi is prepared with careful attention—rice seasoned with red or white vinegar (akazu/shirozu), precise slice thickness, and perfect serving temperature—all demonstrating iai’s craftsmanship.

Unlike flashy omakase venues, iai emphasizes calm over spectacle. Servers in muted tones offer gentle course descriptions, and diners are encouraged to pause between bites. The experience takes about two hours and feels more like meditation than performance—ideal for those seeking quiet luxury.

Reservations are essential and made exclusively on iaimanila.com. iai is open from Wednesday to Sunday, 6 PM to 10 PM, located at G/F The Montane, 8th Ave. cor. 35th St., BGC, Taguig—right across Grand Hyatt Manila. World Kitchens Is Where Your Taste Buds Travel the World

Tucked inside Gateway Mall 2 in Cubao is a food hall that quietly breaks away from the norm. World Kitchens might not shout for attention with neon signs or hype-heavy promotions, but those who’ve stepped inside know—it’s something special.

Here, it’s not just about what’s trendy or Instagrammable. It’s about flavor. Technique. A little surprise in every bite. Developed by Singapore-based F&B visionary Andrew Tan Hock Lai, World Kitchens brings together some of Asia’s most respected chefs, each bringing their own brand of culinary storytelling to Manila.

This isn’t your typical fast-casual food court. It’s more curated than chaotic, with each concept offering depth and detail.

On the sweeter end, Sticky Sweet offers desserts from different stalls in one go—so you don’t have to make the difficult decision of picking just one. Bibingka cheesecake next to matcha tiramisu? Yes, please.

It’s the vibe that really seals the experience. There’s movement and energy, sure—but never the kind that feels rushed. Kitchens are partially open, letting diners peek into the action. The space is polished but not intimidating. Contemporary but not cold. And while it houses a global selection, it still feels rooted in the comfort of being in Metro Manila.

What World Kitchens offers is casual excellence—an invitation to try, to linger, to come back for something new. It’s a rare combination: accessible but elevated, diverse but cohesive. And it’s already becoming the go-to for those in the know.

And if you’re wondering what to eat first, here’s a taste of the lineup: Hawker Lane serves Singaporean staples like Hainanese chicken rice, laksa, and satay skewers; Kushikatsu Daruma brings Osaka-style deep-fried skewers; Eat Fresh specializes in Hong Kong street food favorites; Chef Jessie’s Modern Filipino offers kare-kare, sizzling bulalo steak, and lighter takes on Pinoy classics; Sushi Express delivers quick, high-quality Japanese bites; Masaki focuses on grilled eel and donburi bowls; Wok This Way offers wok-fried Asian noodles and rice dishes; and Lepak Bar ties it all together with drinks that match every plate. Morton’s Opens in Manila, Signaling Renewed Appetite for Traditional Luxury Dining

The arrival of Morton’s The Steakhouse in Bonifacio Global City marks a milestone for Manila’s dining scene. Known internationally for its classic American steakhouse experience, Morton’s is now open at the ground floor of Uptown East Gate in BGC—bringing with it the brand’s signature flair for USDA Prime cuts, old-school charm, and refined hospitality.

Morton’s has long been a fixture in major cities like New York, Singapore, and Hong Kong. What sets it apart is its commitment to doing steak the traditional way: high-quality ingredients, time-tested technique, and generous portions meant to be savored slowly. The Manila location stays true to that formula, while embracing a touch of local warmth and energy.

Step inside and you’re greeted by a setting that’s polished but never cold. Think dark wood finishes, crisp white linens, leather banquettes, and a soft, flattering glow from overhead lighting. Whether you’re here for a business dinner, a special occasion, or simply a serious craving for steak, the space feels intentionally designed for both comfort and elegance.

On the menu, the spotlight is—unsurprisingly—on the beef. Morton’s serves USDA Prime-grade meat, aged and prepared to enhance natural flavor. Diners can choose from a variety of cuts including the tender Center-Cut Filet Mignon, the 16-ounce New York Strip, or the show-stopping 36-ounce Tomahawk Ribeye, which is perfect for sharing. Each steak is seasoned simply, broiled at high heat, and served sizzling on a hot plate to preserve every bite’s juiciness.

No steakhouse experience is complete without the sides, and Morton’s leans into the classics. The Sautéed Spinach is buttery, perfectly wilted, and a great counterpoint to all that rich, charred beef. Meanwhile, the Loaded Baked Potato delivers exactly what the name promises—fluffy on the inside, crisp on the outside, and generously topped with cheese, sour cream, and bacon. They’re familiar, comforting, and just right alongside a perfectly cooked steak.

And while steak is the star, seafood lovers won’t feel left out. Morton’s offers a refined selection that holds its own, starting with the Lobster Ravioli—rich, buttery, and delicately balanced, it’s a dish that feels indulgent but never heavy. For those who like to start strong, the Chilled Ocean Platter is a visual and flavorful treat. Served over crushed ice, it layers premium seafood in a way that’s both elegant and refreshing—perfect for sharing or savoring solo before the main event.

There’s also flexibility in the dining experience. Whether you’re in for a power lunch, a date night, or a private dinner with friends or colleagues, the space accommodates with ease. There are private rooms for more intimate celebrations and a main dining floor that feels open yet cozy—perfect for a long, lingering meal without the noise of a typical hotspot.

To give you a clearer idea of what to expect, here’s a quick peek at the menu highlights:

Appetizers: Jumbo Lump Crab Cake, Bacon-Wrapped Sea Scallops, Lobster Ravioli

Steaks & Chops: Filet Mignon (6/8/12 oz), New York Strip, Cajun Ribeye, Bone-In Ribeye, Tomahawk Ribeye (36 oz)

Seafood & Chef Selections: Miso-Marinated Chilean Sea Bass, Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes, Chicken Christopher, Grilled Salmon

Signature Sides: Loaded Baked Potato, Truffle Matchstick Fries, Smoked Gouda Au Gratin Potatoes, Creamed Spinach

Desserts are available, of course, though your appetite might already be spoken for by the time you reach the end of your meal.

Morton’s The Steakhouse is located at the G/F of Uptown East Gate, 11th Avenue, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. Open daily for lunch and dinner, it’s best to reserve ahead—especially if you’re planning a weekend visit.

Whether it’s your first time trying a true American steakhouse or a long-awaited reunion with a familiar favorite, Morton’s offers a slice of indulgence right in the heart of Metro Manila. No gimmicks—just great food, classic service, and a reason to linger over every bite.

  • New Track, New Energy: BINI Leans Into Playful Power with “Shagidi”

New Track, New Energy: BINI Leans Into Playful Power with “Shagidi”

Just when we thought BINI had already shown us the full spectrum of their sound, the nation’s girl group surprises again. Fresh off their record-breaking BINIverse concert, BINI dropped their latest single, Shagidi, on June 14—and it’s already creating waves across digital platforms and fan communities.

“Shagidi” is not your average pop track. It’s bold, pulsing with attitude, and unlike anything we’ve heard from the group before. Produced by VO3E (the same team behind their hit “Pantropiko”) and penned by BINI’s longtime collaborators John Michael Conchada and Julius James De Belen, this single blends afrobeat elements with sharp vocals and confident lyricism. The result? A catchy, chant-like anthem that commands attention from the first beat.

Lyrically, “Shagidi” explores themes of power and magnetism in relationships—wrapped in a rhythm that feels made for stadium chants and dance floors alike. The song’s name, while playful and mysterious, feels like a mood all on its own: strong, sassy, and unapologetically BINI.

What’s especially exciting is how “Shagidi” marks a new artistic turn for BINI. After the softer, dreamy vibes of “Salamin, Salamin” and the tropical sweetness of “Pantropiko,” this latest release is more assertive and experimental. And the fans? They’re loving it. Within hours, the track trended across platforms and the official hashtag #ShagidiByBINI took over X (formerly Twitter).

This release also arrives ahead of their highly anticipated BINIverse World Tour, adding even more hype to their global run. If Shagidi is a preview of what’s to come, we’re in for a wild ride.

From local queens to international headliners, BINI continues to evolve, proving that their artistry has no limits. Shagidi isn’t just a song—it’s a statement. And once you hear it, there’s no turning back.

Whether you’re a longtime BLOOM or a casual listener, consider this your cue: hit play on “Shagidi” and experience the next level of P-pop excellence.

PUMA Reimagines a Classic with the Speedcat Ballerina

PUMA continues to blur the lines between fashion and function with the launch of the Speedcat Ballerina—a reworked Mary Jane inspired by the grace of ballet and the adrenaline of motorsports.

At once elegant and performance-driven, the Speedcat Ballerina features a sleek, low-profile silhouette with an open forefoot and elastic strap closure. The result: a modern, dynamic twist on the classic ballet flat. Designed to feel light and agile, the silhouette reflects its motorsport roots while offering a fashion-forward edge.

Now, PUMA weaves that heritage into one of its most iconic motorsport silhouettes, originally launched in 1999 as a fireproof performance shoe for F1 drivers. Known for its low-to-the-ground feel, the original Speedcat quickly became a favorite among racers seeking superior pedal sensitivity and control.

A Global Tapestry of Pop Culture

UNIQLO’s UT Spring/Summer 2025 collection brings together over 140 designs that span decades, genres, and continents. Each piece is a carefully curated nod to cultural icons—from master artists Pablo Picasso and Andy Warhol, to beloved franchises such as Disney, Peanuts, and Sanrio, as well as classic Japanese anime and video games.

The collection also includes exclusive collaborations with leading global museums and will continue to unveil new drops weekly throughout the season.

“Even if you’re not familiar with the design on a graphic T-shirt, you might think the graphic is cute or cool—and that’s enough,” says Kosuke Kawamura, UT Creative Director. “We chose cultural touchstones that represent the very best of graphic expression from around the world. I hope everyone finds a design that speaks to them.”

    Introducing the New Relaxed Fit

UT continues to evolve, not just in content but in form. Spring/Summer 2025 introduces a new relaxed fit silhouette, a modern option that balances between UNIQLO’s classic regular and oversized fits.

    • Shorter length than oversized tees
    • Moderately wide box silhouette for easy layering
    • Dropped shoulder seams with slightly shorter sleeves
    • Soft, comfortable fabric designed for a balanced look and feel

This new addition ensures UT is as comfortable and trend-aware as it is expressive.

  • Ben&Ben’s “Saranggola” Captures the Quiet Ache of Growing Up and Growing Apart

Ben&Ben’s “Saranggola” Captures the Quiet Ache of Growing Up and Growing Apart

Just when we thought Ben&Ben couldn’t tug at our hearts any harder, they gift us with “Saranggola” — a new single that feels like a warm hug from an old friend. Fresh off the emotional pull of Tomorrow With You, the band returns with a soulful ode to friendships that evolve, drift, and somehow still stay with us.

At its core, Saranggola is about the beauty and heartbreak of change. It’s the soundtrack to those late-night convos, barkada road trips, and quiet moments when you realize life’s moving on — but love, respect, and connection don’t have to disappear with it.

“It’s about the fleeting nature of youth,” the band shares. “While we may not always be ready for change, we eventually learn to embrace it.”

The track made its debut on Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition, and it’s also part of the upcoming deluxe edition of their album The Traveller Across Dimensions, dropping in 2025. Consider this your early listen to the emotional high note.

Co-written by Paolo Benjamin and Miguel Benjamin, and brought to life by the whole band alongside longtime collaborator Ziv, Saranggola starts simple — acoustic guitar, cajon, and nine voices blending in harmony. Then it swells into something big, bold, and beautiful — classic Ben&Ben style. The kind of track that makes you want to sing with your friends at the top of your lungs, even if it makes your heart ache a little.

“Everyone focused on their own experience of what this song means to them,” the band shares. “It’s a balance between melancholy, nostalgia, energy, and grit.”

But it’s not just a song — it’s a snapshot of a journey. For Ben&Ben, it reflects the years they’ve spent growing together, learning to ride the winds of change, and holding onto what matters most.

Saranggola is a reminder to go back to your roots,” they add. “To rediscover the moments that made you who you are.”

So whether you’re missing a friend, navigating your own life shifts, or just in need of something real and resonant, this song might be exactly what your soul needs right now.
