Kultura Atelier’s KASAL Celebrates the Modern Filipino Wedding

Weddings are deeply embedded in our distinct Filipino culture and spiritual traditions, but the beauty of celebrating love has grown through different heights, shades, and textures of contemporary perspectives. The thrill of planning ends with a balance of taste, nostalgia, familiarity, and aspiration—grounded in how we want to immortalize memories, embody ourselves, and set the tone for married life.

With all the fine details calibrated, the look of the spouses-to-be remains at the ground zero of preferences. While celebrating heritage, today’s couples are embracing looks that feel more personal and distinctly their own. And representation—like our wants and personalities—evolves over time.

Kultura Atelier’s KASAL is a celebration of that evolution. Co-presented with Mastercard and hosted by SM Aura Premier together with Sarsa, the event brought the modern Filipino wedding to life through a thoughtfully curated fashion and lifestyle experience that showcased heritage in a contemporary light.

From contemporary gowns with terno-inspired sleeves to modern interpretations of the Barong Tagalog, Filipino fashion continues to evolve—honoring tradition while making space for individuality and a style that rides and rises with the tides.

Held on June 24, Kultura Atelier unveiled its latest designer collections while welcoming guests into an immersive wedding journey. Every detail was designed to capture the essence of a modern Filipino celebration—from beautifully styled Bridal Suite and Gentlemen’s Lounge vignettes featuring designer wedding and eveningwear, to an elegant tablescape, personalized wedding favors, and a wedding cake where guests could win special prizes.

Beyond the fashion presentations, attendees were invited to experience different aspects of a wedding celebration through interactive installations, including a photobooth, matcha and local liquor bars, a personalization station for customized wedding favors, and a flower bar where guests created their own bespoke bouquets.

At the heart of the event was the KASAL Fashion Show, marking the launch of Kultura Atelier in Metro Manila—an exciting new expression of Filipino heritage and luxury.

The runway brought together an impressive roster of established and emerging Filipino designers alongside Kultura’s in-house brands. Featured designers included Jor-el Espina, Good Luck, Humans, Harold + Harry, Zarah Juan, Daryl Maat, Rodolfo, Philip Rodriguez, Ken Samudio, Martin Uy, and Fashion Accessories Makers PH, while Kultura Atelier also showcased collections from Raffaella, Nuevo Ystilo, EN Barong Filipino, Aurea, and Little Miss Lacey.

Together, the collections offered a fresh perspective on modern Filipino wedding and occasion wear. Bridal couture, contemporary Filipiniana, refined tailoring, handcrafted accessories, and thoughtfully designed pieces came together to show the many ways local design continues to evolve while staying rooted in Filipino identity.

Fashion Accessories Makers PH further underscored this spirit through a collective of Filipino designers dedicated to celebrating contemporary Philippine craftsmanship and design.

Kultura Atelier’s in-house brands added their own distinct perspectives. Raffaella showcased contemporary bridal wear defined by refined silhouettes and graceful femininity, while Nuevo Ystilo presented modern Filipiniana designed to feel elegant, wearable, and relevant for today’s generation.

EN Barong Filipino reinterpreted the timeless Barong Tagalog through modern craftsmanship, Aurea highlighted the natural beauty of Philippine South Sea pearls sourced from Palawan, and Little Miss Lacey completed the presentation with sophisticated occasion wear for children designed for life’s most memorable moments.

Adding another layer to the presentation were the event’s muses, including Glaiza De Castro, Gazini Ganados, Ces Drilon, Issa Liton, Grace Ong, Ryan Arambulo, Scarlet Belo, Sandra Larson, Lilou Massebieau, Maruel Tan, and Salome Uy, each bringing the designers’ creations to life on the runway.

From intricately embroidered bridal gowns and modern Filipiniana to beautifully tailored Barongs, elegant accessories, and refined occasion wear, Kultura Atelier presented a vision of the Filipino wedding that feels both timeless and contemporary.

More than a fashion showcase, KASAL reflects how tradition continues to evolve alongside today’s generation of brides, grooms, entourages, and wedding guests. By bringing together Filipino craftsmanship, local designers, and modern interpretations of heritage, Kultura Atelier celebrates a wedding story that remains deeply rooted in culture while embracing the many ways Filipino style continues to move forward.
